Fragrant Banana Bread

1 3/4 C. flour1/3 C. shortening
2 3/4 t. baking powder2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 t. salt1 C. mashed bananas
½ C. chopped pecans 

Instructions

Blend together: flour, baking powder, salt and pecans. Set aside.
Beat shortening until fluffy.
Add: eggs. Beat until thick and pale yellow.
Add: flour mixture, and bananas, alternately.
Grease bottom only of loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 60 - 70 minutes or until done.
Let partially cool in pan 20-30 minutes before turning onto rack.
Cool thoroughly before cutting or wrapping for storage.
