Raisin Nut Bread

1 C. boiling water1 beaten egg
1 C. seedless raisins1 1/2 C. flour
1 t. soda3/4 t. salt
1 C. sugar1/2 t. baking powder
2 T. melted butter1 C. nuts

Instructions

Pour boiling water over raisins. Stir in soda.
Let stand until cool.
Combine sugar, butter and egg.
Stir in flour, which has been sifted with salt baking powder.
Stir in raisins nuts.
Pour into greased and floured 8 ½ by 4 ½ by 3-inch pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Makes 1 loaf.
