Caramel Dumplings

2 T. margarine2 t. baking powder
1 1/2 C. brown Sugar1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 C. water2 T. margarine
1/8 t. salt1/3 cup plus 1 T. milk
1 1/2 C. flour1 t., vanilla
1/3 C. sugarWhipped cream

Instructions

Combine margarine, brown Sugar, water and salt in 10-inch skillet. Bring to boil stirring constantly turn off heat.
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt, in mixing bowl. Cut in margarine, combine milk and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients stirring until dough clings together. Again heat caramel mix to boiling point.
Drop dumplings by tablespoon into simmering sauce, cover tightly. Simmer 20 minutes serve warm, plain or with whipped cream.
