Old Fashioned Cream of Tomato Soup

32 oz. can diced tomatoes1 T. onion
1 oz butterPinch of baking soda
2 T. sugar2 cups Heavy Cream
9 oz, chicken broth 

Instructions

Mix together: tomatoes, butter, sugar, chicken broth, chopped onion and baking soda.
Simmer 1 hour. Heat cream in double boiler (do not boil). Add cream to hot mixture. Ready to serve. Makes ½ gallon.
